Thankful Thursday

I am joining in with the others claiming this to be Thankful Thursday! I saw it on Cindys Romantic Home blog and then on Rhondi's Rose Colored Glasses Blog! Great idea! I am thankful today for colors. I mean black and white has it's place and all but the world would be boring without beautiful sunsets (a personal favorite of mine!).
I mean God knew what he was doing when he gave us bright colored flowers, green hills, blue sky, colorful fruits and vegetables, pretty birds with bright colors and lets not forget the occasional rainbow we get to enjoy!! Yes, I am thankful for colors today!

Thankful for my Sons

It seems like there are plenty of things that our kids do that are irritating to us as we try to teach and train them to be well-mannered, personable and helpful individuals. But the things I want to look at and point out are all the things I am truly thankful for about my boys. I am thankful for sons who always accept my hugs and actually give me plenty of hugs as well. I am thankful that my teenagers are pretty obedient, even though I know they do not always like to do what they are told. I am thankful for each of them having their own personality, and they have good personalities too! I am thankful that each one has a good sense of humor and they make me laugh. I am thankful that even though they can each be strong willed and stubborn, it is also a quality they use to stand up for what they believe in. I am thankful that as each makes their way to adulthood they still love me in spite of my mistakes, quirks and sometimes short-temperedness with them. I am thankful for my baby girl too of course, but that is a whole other thankful story!

Napping! How Refreshing!

Sometimes we over look how refreshing a nap can be. My friends Mr. V & Mrs. V at www.v-picks.com havethe most welcoming home for just being at peace. With that said you have to share the couch with their 160 lbs Great Danes. If you time it just right you can get right in the middle of them, throw your feet up and just have a nice rest.

So think back to those spots where you have had the best nap of your life and be thankful for them...

Thankful for the Little Things in Life

Being thankful each day help helps to keep us in the right attitude even when things are not going right. We have all had those days (sometimes it is more like weeks or months) when things are not going so well. It is easy at those times to feel sorry for ourselves. I have found that looking for the things in my life that I am thankful for helps to keep me from feeling sorry for myself and getting in a depressed mode. It can be a bunch of very small things that I become aware of and thankful for when I try to think about it. The big things are easy, I am always thankful for my husband, my kids, my friends, my extended family, a roof over my head, my relationship with God, my health (overall pretty good, even though I have a few issues, I know it could be worse), plenty of decent clothes, etc. The little things are a hug from one of my sons, a kiss from my bay girl, finding a great top on sale for $3.99, a yard sale around the corner that had the cutest baby clothes for my daughter for .25 each, a great parking spot, loosing ½ a pound! The little things all add up to having a lot to be thankful for! Would love to hear about some of the small things you are thankful for.

Our Story... How the Thought Rock came to be...

I found myself in a difficult position. Cash reserves running low, stock portfolio and real estate investments losing value. It affected every area of my life. I knew deep in my heart that I needed to be happy about my position in my life, but struggled with my thoughts. I then created what we now call the "Thought Rock" putting it in my pocket and carrying it with me ever since.

This is how it has changed my thoughts, when reaching into my pocket touching my Thought Rock I make a very specific point to go over the things in my life that I am thankful for. Remembering my family, my friends and whatever resources I do have, focusing on being thankful for them. This started to change my attitude and thoughts giving way to more positive thinking. As I did this it was as if the universe opened up and started supplying more and more things to be thankful for, it was awesome.

My wife and I are inviting you to use the Thought Rocks just as we are. Here is what we have experienced, "the more we are thankful for what we have, it opens the door to having more to be thankful for!" This simple practice has enriched our lives and I think it will do the same for you!

We are offering the Thought Rock as our first product for you to own, buy one for everyone that you know. Each one is hand made, not one will be exactly the same, just as our thoughts are not. It is engraved with "I am thankful for..." and will remind you to ponder your thoughts. As time goes by you will begin to focus on those things that are important to you, just as we have. The results for us were amazing!

We hope you will enjoy the benefits of Thought Rocks as much as we have. Your purchase is important to us at Thoughtful Thinking. You will be helping us create positive thoughts one by one. Certainly, the benefits of all of us focusing on what is positive in our lives will result in more things to be thankful for. Thank you for reading our story of the Thought Rock, I hope you are encouraged and that all the desires of your heart come true.
